Hissho also introduced the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/progressivegrocer.com\/walmart-offering-go-sushi\">Hissho on the Go<\/a>\u00a0program at Walmart locations in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area late last year.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><blockquote><p><span>\u201cThis opening of our second craft beer bar location showcases Hissho\u00a0Sushi\u2019s commitment to growth and redefining the experience of a\u00a0customer\u2019s evening at their local grocery store,\u201d noted Dan Beem, CEO of\u00a0Charlotte -based\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hisshosushi.com\/\">Hissho \u1006\u1030\u101b\u103e\u102e<\/a>. \u201cAs we continue to emerge as a leader in our market, we\u2019re\u00a0proud to work with progressive retailers to create an experience that is\u00a0worth coming back for every day.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><p><span>The sit-down sushi restaurant inside the Walmart Supercenter on South\u00a0Pleasant Crossing Boulevard in Rogers, Arkansas, aims to elevate the customer experience to\u00a0provide not only fresh, hand-rolled sushi, hot appetizers and more, but also\u00a0a new way to enjoy them. The 2,000-square-foot space will employ 20 employees, including highly trained local sushi chefs using premium, responsibly\u00a0sourced ingredients.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span>As well as traditional favorites like California rolls and Krispy\u00a0Krab, along with Spicy Red Pepper and Crunchy Shrimp rolls for the more daring\u00a0palates; a range of hot appetizers, including Asian chicken wings, Boom Boom Shrimp, Dim Sum; and craft beer and wines on tap, the concept offers a Healthy Morning Collection, including avocado toast, acai bowls and real-fruit smoothies.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span>As with its first location, Hissho Sushi is working with a local Rogers brewery, Bike Rack Brewing\u00a0Co., to feature its beer at the restaurant.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><blockquote><p><span>\u201cHissho wants to provide our partners with the most creative, craveable\u00a0products and concepts possible so our relationship and sales can continue to\u00a0grow,\u201d added Beem. \u201cWe\u2019re excited for the opportunity to reach new\u00a0audiences with this concept and continue to share our passion for sushi.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><p><span>To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, all employees are receiving\u00a0training on handwashing and sanitation requirements. They\u2019re also required to wear masks and undergo screening ahead of each shift. The\u00a0restaurant is currently operating at half its normal occupancy rate, tables\u00a0and chairs are spaced 6 feet apart, and, in accordance with state guidelines, customers must wear masks to enter the\u00a0restaurant.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><blockquote><p><span>Supermarket prepared foods are the fastest-growing sector of the foodservice\u00a0industry, now surpassing $12.7 billion, according to FMI \u2013 The Food Industry Association.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Bentonville, Arkansas-based\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.walmart.com\/\">Walmart<\/a>\u00a0operates more than 11,300 stores under 58 banners in 27 countries, and e-commerce websites, employing 2.2 million-plus associates worldwide.
